LEXINGTON — The Whitley County high school boys’ and girls’ varsity wrestling teams have turned in stellar efforts the past two weeks, stacking up top five finishes in numerous tournaments.
The boys’ team placed fifth at the Tates Creek Commodore Duals with wins over West Carter, Bourbon County and Nelson County.
They followed with a fourth place finish at Bell County Bobcat Brawl with wins over Cocke County and Pulaski County
The girls’ team had two wrestlers place first overall in their respective weight class in the Bell County Bobcat Brawl with Val Sears earning top honors in the 138-pound division while Taya Allen captured top honors in the 235-pound division.
