Partin scores 20 points during Lynn Camp’s 66-42 loss to Lincoln County

LOG MOUNTAIN — Lynn Camp’s struggles scoring continued during Wednesday’s Redmond Auto Group Holiday Classic.

The Lady Wildcats went up against Lincoln County, who handed Lynn Camp a 66-42 loss.

Joshua Mobley’s squad had trouble defending Player of the Game, MaKayla Greer, who scored 20 points for the Lady Patriots.

“Today we faced a good opponent who has some size and some length,” Mobley said. “They have some guards who can shoot the ball well, and they move, cut and screen with or without the ball well.

“Our turnovers today hurt us again still due to inefficiency of decision making and some poor passing or receiving the ball,” he added. “We also got a lot of good looks in the first half, but none of our shots fell which once again put us behind early.”

Elly Sims caused the Lady Wildcats (2-9) a lot of trouble from the get-go, scoring 13 of her 18 points in the first quarter to give Lincoln County a 24-6 lead.

Lynn Camp never recovered, trailing 39-15 at halftime and 48-28 entering the fourth quarter.

The Lady Wildcats attempted a late-game rally, but fell short, as Lincoln County outscored them, 18-14.

“We rebounded the ball well again for the most part of the game,” Mobley said. “We also played better at times in our defensive rotations today, but still had some breakdowns.

“We will continue to work on rebounding and taking care of the ball,” he added. “This was a good  opponent we faced today and I am proud of our girls and their performance in a lot of areas today we showed growth. Quick turnaround and we will be ready to head to Bell County for another game tomorrow.”

Lauren Partin led Lynn Camp with 20 points, going 10-of-12 from the free-throw line. Sayde Mobley added 12 points, finishing with a 3-pointer and a 3-for-3 effort from the free-throw line while Lily Henize, and Bella Fox each scored five points apiece.
