LEXINGTON — After suffering a heartbreaking defeat on Tuesday, North Laurel answered with one of its best efforts of the season, defeating Deltona, Fla., 83-42, during the Central Bank Jim Rose Classic.
Reece Davidson led the way for the Jaguars with 22 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the floor, including going 3-of-6 from 3-point range.
Jordan Rawlings continued his impressive play as well, especially from long-range, finishing with 19 points and five 3-pointers. Brody Brock added 15 points and three 3-pointers while Cooper Elza scored 12 points and hit two 3-pointers.
“Very happy to get the win today,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “We continue to show growth and take steps in the right direction. We just have to keep working and improving.”
North Laurel shot an impressive 55 percent from the floor (33-of-60), including going 13-of-30 from 3-point territory.
North Laurel (2-6) led the Wolves, 18-11 after the first quarter, and 37-28 at halftime, before outscoring Deltona, Fla., 46-14, the remainder of the game.
The Jaguars limited the Wolves to 27.8 percent shooting from the floor (15-of-54) while outrebounding them, 46-20.
