MOUNT WASHINGTON — Isaac Wilson’s Corbin Lady Redhounds continue to show why they’re ranked No. 1 in the 13th Region.
Another balanced effort that saw five Lady Redhounds score in double figures highlighted Corbin’s 63-50 win over Barren County during Wednesday’s Queen of the Commonwealth Tournament.
Corbin came out hitting on all cylinders, building a 29-22 first half lead before pulling away in the second half.
“Nice bounce back win for our team,” Wilson said. “I liked how we responded after a disappointing effort yesterday.
“Each game in this tournament is a new opportunity to learn more about your basketball team,” he added. “We have learned and experienced so much already and we will continue to be challenged as we move thru this tournament.”
Corbin (7-1) was led in scoring by Kallie Housley’s 17-point scoring effort. Raegan Walker added 12 points while Kylie Clemen, and Bailey Stewart each finished with 11 points apiece. Darcie Anderson scored 10 points while hitting two 3-pointers.
“Defensively, we were much better today and that is something we will continue asking of our kids,” Wilson said. “We will enjoy this one for tonight and get our sights set on whoever our next opponent is tomorrow.”
