MOUNT WASHINGTON — Corbin senior Kallie Housley showed why she’s considered as one of the top players in the 13th Region on Thursday by turning in a 24-point scoring effort while hitting by six 3-pointers during the Lady Redhounds’ 67-55 win over DuPont Manual.
Housley had the hot-hand throughout the contest, scoring five points in the first quarter while hitting four 3-pointers and scoring 12 points in the second quarter. She added seven more points in the second half.
Housley wasn’t the only Lady Redhound that turned in a stellar effort. Kylie Clem torched the nets for 17 points while hitting three 3-pointers. Darcie Andersen and Bailey Stewart chipped in 10 points apiece.
The win improved Corbin to 2-1 in the Queen of the Commonwealth, and 8-1 overall.
Isaac Wilson’s team jumped on their opponents early by building a 24-12 lead in the first quarter. Corbin followed with a 23-12 run in the second quarter to push their cushion to 47-24.
DuPont Manual attempted to rally in the second half, outscoring the Lady Redhounds, 31-20, but the damage had already been done.
