STEARNS — Whitley County continued its red-hot play of late, winning its third game in a row by defeating McCreary Central on the road, 57-46.
The win improved the Lady Colonels to 6-2.
“Good team win on the road,” Whitley County coach Sean Pigman said. “Tough spot playing them at their place in their tournament.”
Aubree Clemens and Amber Brown scored 15 points apiece for the Lady Colonels while Maddy Hopkins added 13 points, and Jonna Rice added 10 points.
“We were balanced offensively,” Pigman said. “We had four score in double digits. Amber did a great job knocking down four 3s as they were trying to take away the inside. Autumn played great defensively working very hard all night on their leading scorer, holding her to half of her scoring average. That’s not an easy job.
“Aubree, Maddy and Jonna did what they do,” he added. “Our bench was into the game. My staff did a great job — we were ready and followed our game plan and made some key adjustments during game. “
