Redhounds fall in semifinal action of Legacy Nissan Dribble Drive Challenge

LONDON — Corbin ran into one of the best teams in the 7th Region on Thursday, losing to Christian Academy of Louisville (CAL), 75-54.

The Centurions built a 33-21 lead by halftime, and outscored the Redhounds, 42-33, the remainder of the game.

“Cal has a nice basketball team,” Corbin coach Tony Pietrowski said. “The combination of defense, athleticism and depth proved too much for us. We welcome this level of competition and think we will be better for it in the long run.

“It’s early in the season but plenty of areas we can improve upon,” he added. “I really like my team.”

Eli Pietrowski led Corbin with 14 points while hitting two 3-pointers. Teammate Trey Worley added 12 points while Carter Stewart finished with seven points.”

“Thought Eli battled hard,” Pietrowski said. “As he continues to get his basketball legs back, I expect even more from him. Ryder Akins played with a tremendous amount of effort tonight. He’s growing leaps and bounds and I expect a big season from him. We will continue to figure out our team. I believe in them and expect us to rebound with a solid performance tomorrow.”
