Pineville came up with an impressive 70-62 win over Lanier Christian Academy on Thursday, advancing to today’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic Consolation championship.
Sawyer Thompson led the way with 29 points, 12 rebounds, and six assists while Ashton Moser finished with 24 points, 10 rebounds, and two assists.
“We are still working to get our legs and lungs back under us from sickness the last week or so,” Pineville coach Brad Levy said. “We played a very good George Wythe, Va. team last night that took a lot for us to fight and battle our way back last night. I was proud of our overall effort today in how we responded on a quick turnaround beating another quality opponent. We feel that playing the quality of competition we have to this point is going to pay dividends in preparing us for the meat of our schedule and the games that have postseason ramifications.”
