Miscues, lack of rebounds lead to Lynn Camp’s loss to Harlan County

LOG MOUNTAIN — Harlan County’s Ella Karst turned in another impressive effort, finishing with 29 points and four 3-pointers during the Lady Black Bears’ 68-23 win over Lynn Camp.

The Lady Wildcats’ struggles with rebounding the ball, and turning the ball over Carrie’s over once again.

Lynn Camp (2-11) trailed 48-10 at halftime, and never recovered.

Faith Hoskins added nine points for Harlan County while Paige Phillips finished with eight points, and Whitney Noe scored six points.

Lauren Partin led Lynn Camp with 12 points while Julie Moore added five points.

“Today’s game was a lot of the same,” Lynn Camp coach Joshua Mosley said. “We turned the ball over a lot. Our defense struggled some due to lack of communication and rotations. We also struggled at times with boxing out and finishing our defensive possessions with rebounds.

“We have to continue to focus on us, and getting better while developing and sticking together,” he added. “We have to continue to work on how to play defense and rotate. We also have to continue to work on moving the ball, and moving without the ball. We will still continue on working on boxing out and rebounding. We are off next week from games so we will be in the gym all week practicing and preparing for our game at Barbourville in a few weeks.”
