Knox Central senior Gavin Chadwell is making a case of being own for the early frontrunners for 13th Region Player of the Year after turning in another double-double during the Panthers’ 56-48 win over McCreary Central.
Chadwell entered the game averaging 20 points, and 15 rebounds per game. He left scoring 23 points while pulling down 14 rebounds, and adding three blocks, and two steals.
Grayson Burton added 15 points, four rebounds, four steals, and five assists while Trevor Jordan finished with seven points, and five rebounds.
“Very proud of my team this week,” Knox Central coach Mitchell Madden said. “We came into the McCreary Christmas Tournament with a couple kids out sick and injured and still went 2-1 and finishing third, only losing to a really good Wayne County team. We had several young kids stepped up and played great for us. We are definitely glad to have a small break to heal up.”
