Chris Souder’s young and talented South Laurel Lady Cardinals will try to finish their stay in the Mike Bromagen Lady Cats Legend Tournament with a win over Raceland today.
The Lady Cardinals possess a 5-4 record while going 1-1 in tournament play.
South Laurel has beaten Menifee County before losing a one-point heartbreaker to Johnson Central.
The Lady Cardinals will attempt to right the ship against a Lady Rams team that is 4-4 and 0-2 in the tournament with losses to both Johnson Central and Menifee County.
They’ve lost three in a row with hopes of ending their losing skid today against South Laurel.
The two teams have only met once, back in 2015 with Raceland coming away with a 59-54 win.
The Lady Rams are led by Kennedy Taylor, who leads the team with an 18.8 scoring average and an 8.7 rebounding average. Naomi Maynard averages 15.8 points per game while Carley Boyd averages 11.7 points per game.
The Lady Cardinals counter with freshman Shelbie Mills, who leads the team with a 20.3 scoring average. Maci Messer is averaging 13.7 points per game while Skeeter Mabe is averaging 11.7 points per game along with a team-best 5.3 rebounding average.
