LEXINGTON — North Laurel suffered another loss, but coach Nate Valentine likes the improvement his team is showing.
The Jaguars (2-8) hung tough throughout their 74-65 loss to LaRue County while showing no quit in the game.
“We put ourselves in a position to win the game in the fourth quarter,” Valentine said. “Every time we made a run, they had answer. This has been challenging but we have to keep going. I still think we have a good team.”
North Laurel stayed within striking distance throughout the contest, trailing 14-12 after the first quarter, and 32-31 at halftime.
The Jaguars were outscored, 23-17, in the third quarter, and attempted to comeback in the final eight minutes but went 0-for-5 from the free-throw line.
Reece Davidson, Cole Jervis, and Brody Brock each led North Laurel with 18 points apiece. Each player also hit two 3-pointers apiece.
