Jaguars snap four-game losing skid with 67-61 win over Calloway County 

LEXINGTON — North Laurel snapped a four-game losing skid while improving to 3-8 in the process by defeating Calloway County, 67-61, on Thursday.

The Jaguars were trailing 53-51 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring the Lakers, 16-8.

North Laurel only turned the ball over six times in the win while finishing with 14 assists. The Jaguars shot 20-of-48 from the floor, including a 10-of-24 effort from 3-point range. North Laurel knocked down 17-of-19 free throw attempts.

“Super proud of our guys for sticking together and finding a way to win,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “We had guys step up and make winning plays when we needed them and got some key stops at crucial moments. It’s all part of the process of learning how to win games.”

Brody Brock led North Laurel with 21 points while hitting 4-of-9 shot attempts from 3-point range. Reece Davidson finished with 19 points and seven rebounds. He also hit 3-of-4 shot attempts from 3-point territory. Kole Jervis finished with 18 points while hitting 11-of-12 shot attempts from the free-throw line.

The Jaguars led 37-33 at halftime before getting outscored, 20-14, in the third quarter.
