MIDDLESBORO — It’s been one heck of a Christmas break for Sean Pigman’s Whitley County Lady Colonels.
They swept the competition in last week’s McCreary Central Invitational, and accomplished the same feat during this week’s Magic City Winter Fest.
Whitley County (10-2) posted a 6-0 record during the two week break, which included Friday’s 67-22 win over Thomas Walker, Va.
“Really good team win,” Pigman said. “The girls really were ready to play, and got off to good start. It all started on defensive end and got us going.
“We shared the ball and ran the floor well,” he added. “Aubree (Clemens) was really good today offensively and on the glass. We were really happy with our energy and effort considering it was third game in as many days.
Proud of the girls and my staff. Go Colonels.”
Eleven players scored in the game for Whitley County, as Aubree Clemens’ 21 points led the way while Maddy Hopkins added 10 points.
