PINEVILLE — Brad Levy’s Pineville Mountain Lions turned in a perfect 3-0 mark during their own Chain Rock Classic this week, defeating Powell County (85-70), Somerset Christian School (85-70), and Trimble County (81-66).
Sawyer Thompson scored 88 points (29.3 per game scoring average) during the three games while Ashton Moser added 68 points (22.6 points per game).
“I’m proud of our kids and coaching staff for locking in and doing what we needed to do over the course of a day tournament to prepare to compete each night,” Levy said. “We played three quality teams this week to win this thing. Our staff did a great job of having our kids ready each night. We had guys step up tonight when we had to have them and they produced in some big moments.”
