CORBIN — Tony Pietrowski’s Corbin Redhounds snapped a two-game losing skid on Tuesday thanks to a 64-43 win over Danville Christian.
Eli Pietrowski recorded a double-double, scoring 22 points while finishing with 11 rebounds. He also hit two 3-pointers and finished 6-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Trey Worley added 10 points while Zander Curry, Carter Stewart, and Conner Middleton each scored eight points apiece. Curry also finished with eight rebounds.
“Proud of the kids,” Pietrowski said. “We had a few set backs last week but never wavered in our willingness to work and believe in the process. Not great offensively in the first half but we really bought in on the defensive side of the ball to keep it close.
“Night and day in the second half,” he added. “We wore them down with our defense and really shared it well on the other end. Eli had a tremendous game against one of the more imposing players we will see this season. Thought he mixed and matched his game offensively and worked extremely hard on the glass. Zander put in a heck of a defensive game. Really slowed down one of their better players. He’s coming on offensively as well. He adds a tremendous amount to our team. Balance was good tonight. Had multiple guys right around the double figure mark. We have an awesome weekend of basketball set up. The Tim Short Classic has all the making of some excellent basketball games.”
