Corbin managed to even its record at 1-1 after defeating Williamsburg, 3-0, on the road Thursday.
The Lady Redhounds were able to regroup after suffering their first loss to a regional opponent since 2017 (49 games) earlier in the week.
Corbin won the first set, 25-22, while picking up wins of 25-20, and 25-21, in the second, and third sets.
“It was great to get a district win under our belt tonight,” Corbin coach Vanessa Ross said. “We needed that. We made a few minor changes in our line up. Overall, we didn’t play at 100 percent. We have to stop making so many mistakes. We would build a good lead and then follow it up with five or six mistakes in a row. I’m impressed with my team for getting the win tonight.”
Corbin will be back in action Saturday in the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 Tournament at Bell County while the Lady Yellow Jackets (1-3) will host Jellico, Tenn. Monday.
