Dixon Law Office Presents: HEAVYWEIGHTS COLLIDE: Unbeaten Bell County looking to snap Whitley County’s 13-game win streak during today’s Class 2A, Section 7 championship 

 

WILLIAMSBURG — Two of the best, and hottest teams will meet tonight to see who will be crowned as the 2024 Class 2A, Section 7 champions when undefeated Bell County (14-0) takes on host Whitley County (13-1).
Combined the two teams have a 27-1 record along with a 27-game win streak.
That’s impressive.
Add to the fact that both schools are off to their best starts in recent memory.
The Bobcats enter the game ranked No. 3 in the 13th Region while Whitley County comes in at the No. 5 spot.
Bell County’s .66894 RPI rating is third in the region while the Colonels are at No. 4 with a .64145 rating.
Whitley County has won the past two meetings against the Bobcats, including last season’s 81-71 win. The Colonels are 9-3 against Bell County dating back to 2012.
The Bobcats are led by Cameron Hall’s 19.6 points per game average. He also is averaging a little over three rebounds per game. Blake Burnett is averaging 18.2 points per game and 5.8 rebounds per game. His 60.4 percent shooting percentage leads Bell County. 
Ethan Buell is averaging 15.4 points per game while is 6.4 rebounding average leads the Bobcats. Sharpshooter Jaxon Thomas is averaging 10.5 points per game. He leads Bell County with 34 made 3-pointers.
Bell County enters the game averaging 73.2 points per game while allowing only 48 points per game.
Whitley County is led by Evans Ellis 17.2 scoring average while he’s pulling down 4.5 boards per game. He also leads the Colonels with a 41.3 percent (38-of-92) shooting percent behind the 3-point line. 
Dre Ellis is second on the team in scoring with a 12.6 points per game average. He ranks second with 27 made 3-pointers while pulling down 3.7 rebounds per game.
Lucas Queener is averaging 9.4 points per game while leading Whitley County with a 7.1 rebounding average. Bryce Anderson has a 9.3 scoring average while Bryson Mahan averages 9.1 points per game. Jackson Petrey averages 7.0 points per game.
The Colonels averaged 67 points per game while allowing only 49.4 points per game.
