Lady Redhounds drop third game in a row with loss to Owsley County

CORBIN — Corbin assistant coach Konnie Snyder gave no excuses for the Lady Redhounds’ 77-63 loss against Owsley County.
Corbin was without the services of head coach Isaac Wilson and senior Kallie Housley for the second consecutive game as the Lady Owls used a 30-19 run in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
“A lot of credit to Owsley County,” Anyder said. “They shot the ball extremely well and were about to maintain their intensity through four quarters.   Our team defense was not able to take away what they were doing well and as a result they were able to get open looks and knock them down.”
Corbin (9-5) trailed 20-18 after the first quarter despite Kylie Clem scoring 13 points while hitting three 3-pointers. Clem added nine more points in the second quarter but the Lady Redhounds were staring at a 36-33 deficit.
Both teams scored 11 points apiece in the third quarter before Owsley County put the contest out of reach by outscoring Corbin by 11 points during the game’s final eight minutes.
Clem led Corbin with 26 points and four 3-pointers while Bailey Stewart and Raegan Walker scored 10 points apiece.
