DANVILLE — It was a tough night for Jeff Davis’ South Laurel Cardinals.
They lost the services of star player Jordan Mabe early in the contest while turning a subpar night shooting the ball.
South Laurel (10-3) saw its seven-game win streak get snapped while being held to its lowest scoring output of the season during Boyle County’s 54-27 win.
“Just a tough night but these guys will get back to work and continue to get better,” Davis said. “Have to give Boyle County credit. They played really well. We will get back to work. These guys won’t give up, they are a resilient bunch.”
South Laurel trailed 26-14 at halftime, and was outscored 28-13 during the second half.
Jordan and Josh Steele led the Cardinals with eight points scoring efforts while Colton Rawlings followed three points.
