LONDON — Another balanced scoring attack played a big part in North Laurel’s 72-56 win over Madison Central on Tuesday.
After starting the season with five losses, the Jaguars (6-10) continue to improve and are now 6-5 during their last 11 games.
“I really liked the way we fought tonight,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “We got in some foul trouble early and guys stepped in and played well. Our guys are gaining confidence with each win. We have some good practice time now to get ready for two big district games next week.”
North Laurel built an 18-8 lead in the first quarter behind senior Brody Brock’s eight points. He also knocked down two 3-pointers.
The Jaguars lead grew to 33-22 at halftime, and Reece Davidson scored five of his team-best 19 points during the period.
Davidson kept the hot hand in the third quarter, adding nine more points while Brock, Kole Jervis, Jordan Rawlings each contributed three points apiece.
Jervis knocked down a 3-pointer, and scored six points in the fourth quarter while Davidson added five points to help guide North Laurel to the 16-point win.
Brock joined Davidson is double figures with 15 points along with Jervis, who scored 13 points. Joe Smith, and Rawlings finished with eight points apiece.
