Cards’ losing skid hits three games after loss to Evangel Christian 

LONDON — South Laurel’s dropped its third game in a row, falling to 10-5, after losing to Evangel Christian, 55-48, during Saturday’s GraceHealth Raymond Reed Classic.

The Cardinals were once again without the services of injured Jordan Mabe, who leads South Laurel in scoring and rebounding.

They held their own, though.

Jeff Davis’ squad trailed 13-11 at the end of the first quarter but used a 17-14 run in the second quarter to take a slim 28-27 advantage at halftime.

The game was tied at 38 apiece entering the fourth quarter before Evangel Christian hit three 3-pointers down the stretch to pull out a seven point win.

Colton Rawlings led the Cardinals with 14 points and four 3-pointers while Max Fullmer and Landon Howard scored nine points apiece.
