LONDON — North Laurel was able to exact some revenge on Friday for its earlier loss to crosstown rival South Laurel.
The Jaguars (7-11) rebounded from Thursday’s seven point defeat to Clay County by bouncing back and handing the Cardinals a 75-63 loss.
South Laurel defeated North Laurel on Dec. 5, 56-40.
The Jaguars jumped out to a 17-11 lead while never looking back in the win.
Both teams were missing starters from the first meeting with Brody Brock, out for North Laurel, and Jordan Mabe, out for South Laurel, due to injuries.

“I’m really happy for our players tonight,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “We had a tough one last night and our guys showed a lot of character to bounce back. We really came together and fought every possession tonight.”
Kole Jervis turned in a stellar effort, scoring 26 points while hitting all eight of his free throw shots. Reece Davidson added with 23 points while Jordan Rawlings finished with 11 points and Cooper Elza finished with 10 points.
North Laurel led 37-29 at halftime, and 58-41 entering the fourth quarter before holding on and winning by 12 points.
Jordan and Josh Steele led the Cardinals with 15 points apiece while Colton Rawlings added 13 points, and Garrison Brown finished with 11 points.
The loss dropped the Cardinals to 11-6. They have now lost four of their last five games after starting the season with a 10-2 record.
