Down two starters, Jaguars find a way to win; knock off Oneida Baptist, 62-47

MANCHESTER — Despite being down two starters, Nate Valentine’s North Laurel Jaguars continue to find ways to win.

The Jaguars went on the road Monday and picked up an impressive 62-47 win over Oneida Baptist while not having the services of starters Brody Brock and Reece Davidson due to injuries.

Kole Jervis continued his impressive play, hitting 9-of-15 shots from the floor, including a 2-for-4 effort from 3-point range to lead the Jaguars with 23 points and five assists. R.J. Noble added 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting while finishing with four rebounds. Joel Smith added 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists while Cooper Elza and Jordan Rawlings scored six points apiece. Elza also led the team with 11 rebounds.

“Happy to get a district win on the road,” Valentine said. “We had several guys step up as we battle thru some injuries. We got off to slow start and our defensive effort created some easy opportunities.”

The win improved the Jaguars to 8-11 overall, and 3-1 against 49th District teams.
