LONDON — Eleven players scored during North Laurel’s 72-27 rout of Red Bird during Tuesday’s 49th District matchup.
The Jaguars jumped out to a 26-6 lead in the first quarter and never looked back during the 45-point win.
North Laurel is now 9-11 overall while improving to 4-1 against district opponents.
“Very pleased with our effort tonight,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “We were able to play everyone and get some guys some good minutes. Now it’s back to work for a very tough weekend upcoming.”
Despite being without starters Brody Brock and Reece Davidson for the second consecutive game, the Jaguars didn’t have any trouble securing their third win in a row.
They took a 54-10 advantage into the locker room at halftime while leading, 60-18, entering the fourth quarter.
Joe Smith led North Laurel with 13 points, scoring nine of those in the first quarter. Cooper Elza added 10 points while Brayden Hampton added eight points.
Daughson Whitehead led the Cardinals (1-12) with nine points while Felix Onasumba added six points.
