DIXON LAW OFFICE PRESENTS: Can Redhounds pull off upset win over top ranked Great Crossing?

PINEVILLE — Tony Pietrowski’s Corbin Redhounds will face-off against the state’s top ranked team, Great Crossing, on Saturday in Pineville with hopes of becoming the first team from Kentucky to hand the Warhawks a loss.
Great Crossing currently possesses a 22-1 record with its only loss coming to Virginia’s Bishop O’Connell back on Dec. 30, 2023.
Since the loss, the Warhawks have won 10 games in a row.
Vince Dawson leads Great Crossing with a 16.7 scoring average while Malachi Moreno is tossing in 15.7 points per game. Junius Burrell is averaging 12.4 points per game while Jeremiah Godfrey (9.0), and Gage Richardson (7.7) follow.
Corbin will have to keep an eye on Burrell, Richardson, and Dawson. The trio have combined to hit 103 of the Warhawks’ 129 3-pointers this season.
Moreno has dominated the boards, averaging a team-best 13.2 boards per game as Godfrey (5.5), Dawson (4.5), and Burrell (2.3) follow.
The Redhounds have lost two straight and will look to get back to their winnings ways after falling to Whitley County (46-45), and Clay County (68-65) by a combined four points.
Eli Pietrowski leads Corbin with a 13.4 scoring average along with 7.5 rebounding average. Zander Curry averages 12.3 points per game along with 7.1 rebounds per game. Trey Worley chips in 9.9 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game while Connor Middleton is scoring 9.1 points per game and averaging 2.4 rebounds per game. Carter Stewart is averaging 8.8 points per game and 2.5 rebounds per game while Ryder Akins is averaging 7.8 points per game and 3.4 rebounds per game.
