CORBIN — Even though his Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats hadn’t won a game in over six weeks and entered Thursday’s game against Model riding a nine-game losing skid, coach Josh Mobley continued to see progress while never hitting the panic button.
The Lady Wildcats’ progression paid off against the Lady Patriots, resulting in an impressive 58-34 win.
“We played well tonight as we bothered them with the press,” Mobley said. “We also passed and moved the ball well on offense tonight which lead us to good shots on the floor. We once again played defense decently with our rotations and communication. We also rebounded the ball well again.
“I have been saying it, and will say it again — we are improving each time out, especially defensively,” he added. “Tonight, we played better offensively as well. Time to get some rest tonight and be ready to go again tomorrow evening against Knox Central at home.”
The 24-point win turned out to be Lynn Camp’s first since a 55-32 victory over Oneida Baptist on Dec. 15, 2023.
The Lady Wildcats are now 3-16 with a 51st District shown scheduled at home against Knox Central on Friday.
Lauren Partin turned in a career-best 32 point scoring effort for Lynn Camp while Lily Henize scored eight points, and Madison Weymers added six points. Emma Burnette added two points.
