Balanced attack leads to North Laurel’s 32-point win over Pineville

PINEVILLE — Eddie Mahan’s North Laurel Lady Jaguars continue to prove why they hold the top ranking in the 13th Region. 

Following a commanding 26-point victory against the No. 2 Corbin on Friday, they continued their dominance with a convincing 67-35 win over Pineville.

North Laurel turned in an impressive defensive effort, limiting the Lady Mountain Lions to only three points in the first quarter, and eight points in the second quarter.

By the time halftime rolled around, the Lady Jaguars held a commanding 31-11 advantage.

North Laurel (17-4) outscored Pineville, 17-13, in the third quarter, and 19-11, in the fourth quarter to cruise to the win.

Chloe McKnight led the Lady Jaguars with 16 points while Jaelyn Black finished with 14 points. Brooke Nichelson added nine points while Gracie McKnight added eight points. Mariella Claybrook scored seven points.

Nadine Johnson led the Lady Mountain Lions (14-4) with 22 points while 19 of those came in the second half. Malley Smith added six points in the loss.
