Jaguars drop second straight with 61-56 loss to Lincoln County

STANFORD — North Laurel suffered its second consecutive loss after suffering a 61-56 setback to Lincoln County.

The Jaguars (10-13) started the game with a 15-12 lead in the first quarter behind two 3-pointers by Brody Brock, but the Patriots rallied to take a 25-22 edge at halftime.

North Laurel continued to fight in the second half, trailing 44-36 entering the fourth quarter before cutting its deficit to five points in the fourth quarter.

“We got off to a good start,” North Laurel coach Nate Valentine said. “We had a scoring drought in the second quarter that flipped the game. We’ll get back in the gym and get ready for two district games.”

The Jaguars finished the game knocking down 13 3-pointers as Brock led North Laurel with 14 points. Kole Jervis added 12 points while Jordan Rawlings and Joe Smith finished with nine points apiece.
