Lady Bobcats roll to fifth 52nd District win, defeats Middlesboro, 64-41

MIDDLESBORO — Bell County picked up a key 52nd District win on Thursday, knocking off Middlesboro on the road with a 64-41 decision.

The Lady Bobcats improved to 14-9 and 5-1 in district play while Middlesboro falls to 4-18 and 0-6 against district opposition.

“Was a good district road win for our team,” Bell County coach David Teague said. “We played well early and did some good things both defensively and offensively.  We didn’t shoot the ball particularly well tonight but was proud of the kids for continuing to battle and play through that.”

Bell County placed three players in doubles figures in scoring with Gracie Jo Wilder, who recorded her 1,000th rebound, scoring 17 points while Lauren McGeorge added 16 points and Kairi Lamb finished with 13 points.

Halaya Brown led the Lady Yellow Jackets with 18 points while Morgan Martin scored 10 points.
