LOG MOUNTAIN — The North Laurel Jaguar freshmen squad won the 13th Region Freshmen Tournament championship for the third consecutive season on Saturday with an impressive 47-43 win over Bell County.
“This is a special group that had to adjust to playing without two other freshmen this year, who start varsity for us,” coach Elijah Jervis said. “To be able to win this thing for the third year in a row is really special and a testament to the good things happening within our program. We’re very proud of our guys for fighting hard all day and finding a way to win.”
Brayden Hampton led the Jaguars with 20 points while Lucas Cupp, RJ Noble, Cam Anderson, and Evans Zarate scored six points apiece. Asher Edwards finished with three points.
