Jackson County beats Rockcastle County for the first time in 20 years, rolls to 54-46 win

MCKEE — An old 13th Region rivalry was renewed at Jackson County High School on Monday with the Lady Generals defeating Rockcastle County for the first time in 20 years.

The two teams had many battles when the Lady stockers were in the 13th Region before moving to the 12th Region during the 2005-06 season.

Rockcastle County had reeled off 11 straight wins over the Lady Generals until Monday when Jackson County picked up an impressive 54-46 win to improve to 15-9.

Maddie Curry led the Lady Generals with 17 points while Abby Gilbert finished with 16 points. Lauryn Sizemore and Anslee Nichols scored eight points apiece.
