MANCHESTER — Williamsburg’s struggles continued on the road Tuesday during their 60-34 loss to Clay County.
The Lady Yellow Jackets fell behind, 16-4, in the first quarter and never recovered. Their record now stands at 4-18 while they’ve now lost nine games in a row.
“Tough loss tonight,” Williamsburg coach Melissa Douglas said. “We allowed the environment to take us out of our game. It doesn’t help that we are hit with sickness. However, I’m still pleased with Presley’s and Ellie’s game coming off the bench. They both are young players showing improvement and potential for next season.”
Presley Spicer led the Lady Yellow Jackets with nine points while Hannah Creekmore finished with seven points.
Clay County improved to 9-19 with the win while Anna Samples led the Lady Tigers with 21 points. Madison Pendland added 16 points.
