GIRLS’ SOCCER WEEK TWO RANKINGS: Lady Cardinals remain at No. 1, North Laurel & Corbin not far behind 

1. South Laurel (5-1 overall)

The Lady Cardinals have been dominant except for one minor setback, a 3-2 loss to Lincoln County. Lora Rison’s squad has outscored their opponents, 40-0, during their five wins.

Tess Little has recorded five shutouts at the keeper position while Josie Gill has 11 goals and six assists. Belle Dotson has delivered nine goals, and nine assists while Ella Rison has six goals and five assists. Gracie Hoskins has scored five times and has two assists.

2. North Laurel (2-0)

The Lady Jaguars picked up an impressive 3-2 road win against Danville last week, and they will receive another test Monday when they host Lincoln County.

Makayla Mastin leads North Laurel with nine goals.

3. Corbin (5-3)

The Lady Redhounds are rolling after starting with a 1-3 mark. They posted a 2-1 record in the Smoky Mountain Cup, and then knocked off both Danville, and Russell on the road. The win over the Lady Admirals was big, Corbin blew past Danville with a 7-2 win.

Grace Gibson has been huge, scoring 15 goals while recording four assists. Teammate Olivia Jones has nine goals and 10 assists. 

4. Whitley County (2-2)

The Lady Colonels are losers of two straight but look to get back on track this week with McCreary Central, Casey County, and Corbin. 

Autumn Sawyers has eight goals, and one assist for the season while Desarae Haynes has scored three goals, and recorded four assists.

5. Middlesboro (3-1)

The Lady Yellow Jackets are winners of three in a row after losing its season-opener to Whitley County. Middlesboro has outscored its opponents, 12-0, during its win streak.

Kamryn Keith has nine goals, and one assist while keeper Madison Bruce has recorded three shutouts.
