Oneida Baptist picks up big win over Pineville, beats Mountain Lions, 69-52

MANCHESTER — Oneida Baptist continued its impressive season, improving to 15-11 with a 69-52 win over Pineville on Thursday.

The Mountaineers led throughout the game, and received a 29-point scoring effort from Canaan Tyree, and 26 points from Jacob Rogers to knock off the Mountain Lions.

Pineville was without the services of Ashton Moser, and fell to 17-8. Oneida Baptist is now 6-3 against the Mountain Lions during the two teams’ last nine meetings.

“Really proud of our guys and the way they battled tonight,” Oneida Baptist coach Larry Gritton, Jr. said. “Yesterday, we had the best practice we’ve had in quite a while and that good work carried over to tonight’s game. Hats off to Coach (Brad) Levy and his squad for their solid effort without Moser, but our guys did a good job of making it difficult for (Sawyer) Thompson, who is a great player and still managed to put 25 on the board.”

Thompson led Pineville with 25 points while Wyatt Caldwell added nine points.
