LOG MOUNTAIN — Isaac Wilson’s Corbin Lady Redhounds were firing on all cylinders during Friday’s 84-50 win over Bell County.
The Lady Redhounds’ mid-season skid is an afterthought with the way they have been playing the past few weeks.
After leading only by one points (13-12) at the end of the first quarter and four points (35-31) at halftime, Corbin put the game away by outscoring the Lady Bobcats, 49-19, during the final 16 minutes.
“Happy to get another win within the region tonight,” Corbin coach Isaac Wilson said. “Offensively, I thought we played really well and shared the basketball and was able to knock down some shots tonight. In the first half defensively, I did not think that we played very well, but I do believe that we picked that up in the second half and it was a much different feel to the game in the second half. We will enjoy this one tonight but much set our sights on our season finale against Pulaski Southwestern.
“Monday’s game we will get to honor a great group of seniors and we would like to keep the momentum that we have heading into the post season,” he added. “Southwestern is a nice ball club with a great tradition and we must be ready.”
The Lady Redhounds had eight players score with seven of them reaching double figures.
Kallie Housley led Corbin with 15 points while Izzy Walker added 11 points. Darcie Anderson, Maekayla Williams, Bailey Stewart, Raegan Walker, and Lydia King scored 10 points apiece.
Lauren McGeorge led Bell County with 17 points while Gracie Jo Wilder finished with 14 points, and Kairi Lamb added 13 points.
