BOYS’ SOCCER WEEK TWO RANKINGS: Corbin has a big week, Jaguars come in at No. 2

1. Corbin (2-4 overall)

You’ve got to overlook the Redhounds record. It doesn’t indicate just how good Corbin is. Coach Armando Cima has put together another tough slate that will have his team ready and prepared once postseason play begins.

The Redhounds captured the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 title last week with an 8-0 win over Whitley County.

The play of Gabe Cima and Sheel Patel has been huge during the beginning of the season.

2. North Laurel (3-2-1)

Coach David Broyles has done a fantastic job with North Laurel. The Jaguars picked up two big wins this past week, defeating OBI, 10-0, while cruising past Wayne County, 5-0.

Jaxon Jacobs leads North Laurel with eight goals while Jackson McCowan has six goals, and two assists. Tanner Broyles continues to shine, scoring three goals while leading the Jaguars with 10 assists.

3. South Laurel (1-3-1)

The Cardinals can’t get any consistency going yet.

South Laurel Has some games this week that should allow the Cardinals to get on track.

Liam Zik leads South Laurel with three goals, and two assists while Eli Buckles has two goals, and two assists.

4. Whitley County (3-2)

The Colonels have been rolling but suffered a setback after falling, 8-0, to Corbin this past week during the finals of the Kentucky 2A, Section 7 Tournament.

Matthew Sawyers leads Whitley County with 13 goals, and five assists while Johnny Parra has seven goals, and 10 assists.

5. Harlan County (2-3-1)

The Black Bears picked up a 4-2 win over Middlesboro which ran their win streak to six games over the Yellow Jackets.

Ray Splawn leads Harlan County with six goals.
