MANCHESTER — Anthony Hibbard’s Williamsburg Yellow Jackets rolled to their third win in a row while improving to 15-13 on Monday.
Williamsburg received a 22-point scoring effort from Andrew Smith to defeat Red Bird, 74-48.
“Another good win for our team tonight,” Hibbard said. “Coach Jared and Red Bird put together a solid first half. His guys never quit and kept making play after play.”
Williamsburg trailed 15-14 at the end of the first quarter before taking a 32-28 advantage at halftime.
“We struggled to find any kind of consistency tonight in the first half,” Hibbard said. “We picked up the pace in the second half and looked more like ourselves.
“Overall, we shot it well tonight,” he added. “We have to be more consistent in other areas, though. We are back on the road tomorrow. We have to regroup and prepare for a tough road matchup in Knoxville tomorrow.”
Henry Bowling joined Smith in double figures with 17 points while Conner Saylor added 16 points.
