Wildcats hang tough before falling to Bell County, 68-47

LOG MOUNTAIN — Bell County improved to 24-5 while Lynn Camp fell to 7-18 after the Bobcats’ 68-47 win over the Wildcats on Monday.

Brad Sizemore’s squad has now won two in a row and eight of their last nine games while Tyler Wagner’s Wildcats have now lost three games in a row.

“Proud of our guys tonight,” Wagner said. “We came out and stayed solid against a really good Bell County team. Credit to Brad Sizemore, those guys stay discipline and locked in throughout the entire game.

“We came out strong in the first half and moved the ball really well and capitalized on some defensive stops,” he added. “Second half, we came out better in the third than usual but we ran out of gas in the fourth quarter and they just took off. I’m proud of my guys they don’t back down from anyone. Earlier in the season we would shy away from playing competition but my kids want to be in that environment and they are getting better each game from it. Tomorrow we take on a solid Middlesboro team that has been playing really well and it’s our senior night so emotions will be high. I hope we come out ready and keep progressing the way we have been.”

Ethan Buell led Bell County with 24 points while Blake Burnett added 18 points and Cameron Hall finished with 14 points.

Ethan Burd’s 24-point scoring effort led Lynn Camp while Tate Mills added 11 points, and Caleb Woods finished with eight points.
