CORBIN — Isaac Wilson’s Corbin Lady Redhounds finished regular season play with a 77-55 win over Southwestern while improving to 18-8 during the process.
The Lady Redhounds will enter next week’s 50th District Tournament riding a five/game win streak while winning nine of their last 10 games.
Other than a hiccup in the first quarter, Corbin looked impressive on senior night.
“Really excited for our seniors tonight being able to send them off with a win in their last home game,” Wilson said. “I really thought that we were ready to play from the tip tonight. Offensively again, I feel that we turned in a solid effort and the ball never seemed to stick tonight. I thought we could’ve been a little better in the first quarter especially defensively. We responded much better in the second quarter. I thought our defensive effort in that quarter is what really helped us break the game open.
“Hats off to Southwestern as I thought they battled without the services of Kinsley Molden tonight,” he added. “She is a big difference-maker for them and they definitely missed her tonight. Lastly, I just want to thank my seniors for all the time and dedication that they have put into making the Corbin Lady Redhound basketball program what it has became. They show up daily and always give us their best, and they have been great role models for our younger kids to keep the winning tradition in our program.”
Kallie Housley led Corbin with 19 points while Lydia King added 12 points. Bailey Stewart and Addy Wilson finished with 10 points apiece.
