Lady Wildcats put up a fight before Harlan County pulls away in the second half

HARLAN — Josh Mobley’s Lynn Camp Lady Wildcats hung tough with Harlan County despite falling, 53-28, on Tuesday.

The Lady Wildcats (3-23) only trailed, 24-20, at halftime before getting outscored by the Lady Black Bears (16-12), 29-8, in the second half.

“This game was a tale of two halves,” Mobley said. “The first half we played well, and moved the ball to good shots very well. We also played decent on defense in the first half rotational wise. Throughout the whole game, especially in the second half they hurt us on the glass and got a lot of second chance opportunities at the rim.

“For the most part, we took care of the ball better once again,” he added. “Our turnovers were majority self inflicted tonight from us trying to force things at times that weren’t there. We still continue to get better and better each time out. Time to get back to work and get ready for our last game of the regular season on Thursday.”

Ella Karst led Harlan County with 25 points while Paige Phillips added 18 points. Madison Weymers finished with nine points for Lynn Camp while Lauren Partin, and Sayde Mobley scored eight points apiece.
