Lady Jaguars remain red-hot with postseason play drawing near

LONDON — Eddie Mahan’s North Laurel Lady Jaguars continue to impress heading into next week’s 49th District Tournament.

The Lady Jaguars wasted no time of defeating Owsley County on Tuesday, cruising to a 66-36 win.

North Laurel (22-5) started slow out of the gate, but still managed to hold a 13-4 lead at the end of the first quarter, and 27-15 advantage in the second quarter.

Haley Combs and Eden Begley scored five points apiece in the third quarter, helping the Lady Jaguars’ advantage grow to 48-28.

North Laurel put the finishing touches on the win during the final eight minutes, outscoring the Lady Owls, 18-8.

Brooke Nichelson led the Lady Jaguars with 15 points while Chloe McKnight finished with 13 points. Haley Combs and Mariella Claybrook scored 10 points apiece.
