Corbin gets back on track with convincing 86-49 win over Pineville 

CORBIN — The Corbin Redhounds out on one of their most dominating efforts of the season on Tuesday, handing Pineville an 86-49 loss.

Ten players scored for the Redhounds (17-8) with four of those scoring in double figures.

Eli Pietrowski led Corbin with 14 points while Ryder Akins finished with 13 points, and Trey Worley scored 12 points. Zander Curry finished with 11 points.

“Encouraging two days of practice followed by some great play this evening,” Corbin coach Tony Pietrowski said. “Thought we shared the ball well. Felt like we had numerous guys in double figures.

“Guarded well tonight,” he added. “Then finished those possession off by rebounding it at a pretty high level. Two tough tests ahead of us to finish off the regular season.”

The Redhounds led 24-8 at the end of the first quarter and was in cruise control the remainder of the game. Corbin’s lead grew to 46-27 at halftime, and 74-39 entering the fourth quarter.

The loss dropped the Mountain Lions to 18-10. They were led in scoring by Sawyer Thompson, who scored 22 points while Wyatt Caldwell added nine points.
