CORBIN — Lynn Camp snapped a four-game win streak and picked up a key win over a 13th Region opponent with a 59-57 win over Middlesboro.
The Wildcats (8-18) trailed 14-8 at the end of the first quarter, but tied the game at 31 apiece heading into halftime.
The Yellow Jackets (10-18) held a slim 48-47 lead entering the fourth quarter before Lynn Camp rallied and outscored Middlesboro, 12-9, in the fourth quarter to get the win.
“Tonight was a great night,” Lynn Camp coach Tyler Wagner said. “We were able to honor the seniors that have been here and been battling and helping build this culture with a win. Props to John Wheat, we are very similar and his team battled all night. He ran some good stuff and made some tough shots.
“We came out in the first half and got down 12 but battled back and tied it going into halftime,” he added. “We didn’t rebound the ball very well in the first half but in the second half we were able to minimize their second chance opportunities. It was close at the end but we got some key defensive stops and hit free throws. These kids have battled all year and we are improving everyday not just every game. We got to stay focused and stay on this same path we are on right now and come out every game ready to battle. I’m glad I got to be apart of this senior class, they’ve taught me more than they will ever know.”
Tate Mills led Lynn Camp with 20 points while Caleb Woods added 14 points. Ian Agosto added nine points while Ethan Burd finished with eight points.
Jeremiah Beck led the Yellow Jackets with 19 points while Trey King added 17 points.
