Lady Yellow Jackets suffer one-point loss on the road to Knoxville Ambassadors

KNOXVILLE — The Williamsburg Lady Yellow Jackets suffered another heartbreaker on Tuesday, falling to the Knoxville Ambassadors, 52-51.

The game was close throughout with Williamsburg (5-21) leading 21-20 at halftime before the Lady Yellow Jackets were outscored, 32-30, in the second half.

“Fell short once again,” Williamsburg coach Melissa Douglas said. “So proud of freshmen Presley Spicer’s and Abby Moses‘ second half play. Presley shot 7 for 10 on the free throws and Abby kept us in the game. Defensively, we allowed another three up and it cost us. Hannah and Lylah have been consistent scoring and playing great defense.”

Abby Moses led Williamsburg with 15 points while Hannah Creekmore added 12 points.
