WILLIAMSBURG — Coach Melissa Douglas was more than happy with her team’s performance against McCreary Central.
The Lady Yellow Jackets (6-21) took a lead early in the game, and delivered an impressive 62-57 win over the Lady Raiders.
“Energy from start to finish,” Douglas said of her team’s effort. “We kept it together and looked polished. We have worked all season trimming numbers statistically and tonight our shots fell. Last home game for our seniors, and we have been truly blessed. I am so thankful for them playing and giving me a chance. They have made me a better coach and taught me more than I could imagine. Each player made a difference and I look forward to the future.”
Williamsburg shot 73 percent from the free throw-line, finishing 19-of-26. Hannah Creekmore hit 7-of-8 of her free throw attempts while scoring 14 points. Allie Wilson led Williamsburg with 21 points.
