MANCHESTER — Eddie Mahan’s North Laurel Lady Jaguars will get the opportunity to defend their 13th Region crown next week at The Arena after defeating Oneida Baptist, 101-20, during semifinal action of the 49th District Tournament.
The win extended the Lady Jaguars’ win streak against district opponents to 49 game while they improved to 25-5 during the process.
The Lady Mountaineers’ season came to an end after the loss. They’ll finish with a 4-17 mark.
North Laurel led from the get-go, never looking back during its 81-point win.
The Lady Jaguars led 34-2 at the end of the first quarter, and 63-8 at halftime before sealing the win in the second half.
All of North Laurel’s players scored in the win as Jaelyn Black led the way with 14 points while Haley Combs finished with 13 points. Abby Hubbard also scored 13 points while Eden Begley added 10 points. Emma Carl finished with nine points while Paisley Kilburn added eight points.
The Lady Jaguars will be back in action again Thursday in the district title game against the winner of Clay County versus Jackson County.
