WILLIAMSBURG — Getting past your first game of the postseason is usually one of the hardest things to accomplish, but it was pretty easy for Isaac Wilson’s Corbin Lady Redhounds on Monday.
Corbin recorded a 77-38 win over Williamsburg in the 50th District Tournament semifinals to notch their spot in next week’s 13th Region Tournament at The Arena.
Senior Kallie Housley led the way before suffering an injury due to a collision in the second half. She scored 19 points while Lydia King added 18 points on the win. Kylie Clem finished with 11 points.
Allie Wilson turned in a 17-point scoring effort for the Lady Yellow Jackets while Hannah Creekmore, and Lorelei Coleman scored six points apiece. Lylah Mattingly added five points.
Corbin improved to 19-8 with the win while capturing its six win in a row during the process.
Williamsburg finishes the season with a 6-22 mark.
The Lady Redhounds led 20-6 after the first quarter, and 46-18 at halftime as Housley scored 15 points in the first half.
Corbin sealed the win, outscoring the Lady Yellow Jackets, 31-20, in the second half.
