CORBIN — Steve Warren’s Knox Central Lady Panthers did what they needed to do, to move on to next week’s 13th Region Tournament.
The Lady Panthers built a 22-7 first quarter lead, and never looked back during their 62-29 win over Lynn Camp in Monday’s 51st District Tournament.
Knox Central (21-9) will now play the winner of Barbourville versus Pineville in Thursday’s title game while the Lady Wildcats finish the season with a 4-24 record.
Lynn Camp never got on track against the Lady Panthers. The Lady Wildcats trailed 36-14 at halftime, and 54-21 entering the fourth quarter.
Lauren Partin led Lynn Camp in scoring with 14 points while Sayde Mobley followed with six points.
Timberly Fredrick led Knox Central with 15 points and five made 3-pointers. Kelsie Smith added 11 points while Halle Collins chipped in nine points.
