Jackson County uses 20-2 run during the first quarter to eliminate Clay County 

MANCHESTER — Abby Gilbert scored a game-high 21 points while Jenna Creech and Maddie Curry each added 11 points apiece to help Jackson County record a 63-21 win over Clay County in Monday’s 49th District semifinal Tournament.

The Lady Generals (19-10) will now face-off against North Laurel in Thursday’s district title game.

Jackson County is 0-2 against the Lady Jaguars this season, but will have another chance to end North Laurel’s win streak against district foes which is now at 49 games.

Anna Samples led the Lady Tigers (11-20) with 11 points in the loss. 

Jackson County built a 20-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.
